As the industry-first sugaring hair removal brand, the Bare&Sol brand was founded in 2013 in Birmingham, AL under its original name, LA Bikini. FG Brands, a wellness franchise platform that empowers entrepreneurs through self-care and wellness, acquired the concept in 2025 and officially rebranded it in 2026 as a high-demand franchise spa studio with a recurring revenue business model.
With its refreshed brand identity, brand vision, and innovative studio design, Bare&Sol is now the only beauty wellness franchise that provides members and guests with two high-demand beauty self-care routines under one roof — all-natural and less-painful sugaring hair removal and UV-free airbrush spray tanning. For franchisees, this unique combination of health and beauty routines, combined with the brand’s membership-based model, provides strong recurring revenue streams and a highly loyal customer base predicated on repeat business.
Bare&Sol is a brand founded on expert-level care, skin-loving ingredients, and an all-inclusive experience where everyone is made to feel welcome. The Bare&Sol franchising network currently includes 13 studio locations across seven U.S. states.

Franchise Chatter: The rebrand for Bare&Sol appears to be perfect timing, as the IFA has predicted an above average growth rate of 2.1% for the wellness industry, currently valued at over $66 billion annually. Does that seem accurate?
Zalud: Yes, we are quite aware of the potential found in the current marketing outlook for the overall health and wellness category. Globally, the hair removal waxing category is a $9B market alone, with strong and stable demand that continues to grow. It’s quite a convincing point with the candidates currently exploring our business model. Our locations are design-built with a cleaner, sleeker, and more modern approach. Everything from the aesthetics, lighting, and the on-trend interior design features are meant to provide a relaxed, soothing environment, focusing squarely on providing our members and guests with a superior customer experience.
To further address the market outlook, the IFA’s own Franchising Economic Impact Report projects that the total number of wellness establishments will reach 100,000, which is a significant milestone. In addition, the IFA’s research shows an increase of 27,000 new jobs, with total employment in the wellness industry reaching 367,000.
If we drill down further and focus on the two beauty care service lines provided by Bare&Sol, we’re looking at a global sugaring market valued at $2.6 to $3.1 billion annually, with airbrush tanning coming in at $350 million to $1.3 billion per year. Both are growing at astonishing rates — a 5-6% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). This definitely squares with what we’re seeing on the ground, in terms of candidate interest and heightened sales and development activity.

Zalud: My absolute favorite question! What we’ve done with the Bare&Sol business model is combine two high-demand beauty care services under one roof. We specialize in providing the natural and less-painful sugaring hair removal and combine this beauty care routine with UV-free airbrush spray tanning. We’re the only beauty wellness franchise to do that and it’s something we’re quite proud of.
In addition to specializing in those two high-demand beauty care regimens, there’s also the recurring revenue driven by our membership-based model. Lastly, there is our elevated studio design and vibe that challenges the “waxing status quo.” Frankly, I believe that current in-studio experience and aesthetics in waxing salons are underwhelming, so we decided to reimagine it while keeping our services very affordable.
Franchise Chatter: Can you talk about some of the financial claims disclosed in the current Item 19 section of your FDD?
Zalud: Yes, absolutely. We’ve spent a great deal of time and effort researching the financial performance of our locations. Right now, our Bare&Sol affiliated studios are pulling an average unit volume of $880,000 per location, with the highest performing studio topping $1.1 million. The average EBITDA figures are coming in at $232,000.

This also allows us to enter smaller markets and cities which I am excited about. Though the wellness marketplace for beauty is crowded, we’ve positioned Bare&Sol at a reasonable entry-level investment for candidates. The total cost to open, which includes the franchise license, buildout, TI, working capital, and fees is in the range of $300,000 to $590,000.
Once owners reach breakeven status, and this is according to our internal benchmarks, we believe Bare&Sol locations are capable of producing revenue that’s 1.5 to 2.5 times over that total initial investment. In keeping with compliance, I should mention that these figures do not constitute an offer or sale of a franchise and this information is taken directly from the most updated version of our FDD.
Franchise Chatter: What sort of consumer feedback are you getting for Bare&Sol?
Zalud: Another great question — we’ve provided over one million sugaring services to date and that’s earned us a 4.8/5.0 average Google rating, based on over 3,500 online reviews. Our locations continue to pull in robust levels of repeat business, so I’d say we have a very loyal fan base.
Some of the testimonials we’ve received talk about consumers being “obsessed” with our sugaring services, that the beauty care routine “blew their mind,” and that their skin has “never felt smoother.” Once a customer has experienced the Bare&Sol difference, there’s a high likelihood they’ll join as members and the recurring revenue this produces is one of our key selling points.
Franchise Chatter: Why was now the right time to rebrand Bare&Sol?
Zalud: When we acquired LA Bikini last year, we identified an opportunity to deliver a better consumer experience than what you’re seeing with the traditional waxing salons. Based on our own marketing research, we believe the customers have evolved and we have chosen to evolve with them. Based on consumer feedback and demand we were getting, we really felt like the timing was right to challenge the traditional waxing salon experience and turn it into something much cooler, built for today’s discerning consumers.
Having become the go-to brand for Brazilian sugaring wax services, we’ve now perfected the routine and combined it with the addition of professional airbrush tanning that’s UV-free, creating the only membership-driven franchise model that focuses exclusively on the delivery of these specific services. In our quest to be an industry leading innovator in the beauty and wellness space, Bare&Sol has been reborn to capitalize on the brand’s promise — helping people feel powerful and confident in their own skin.
Franchise Chatter: In addition to the rebrand itself, Bare&Sol has — in effect — rebranded the design and interior of their studios. What can you tell us about that?
Zalud: We put a lot of time and effort into the studio redesign and the goal was straightforward — put our clients at ease from the moment they walk through the door. Many of our clients are seeking these beauty care routines for the first time and it’s only natural to feel a bit apprehensive about receiving such intimate services. That’s why our spaces have now been fully reimagined and design-built to offer the best consumer experience possible.
Open studios have undergone or are undergoing minor yet impactful design changes and additionally, we have developed a brand new studio look for future ones. This will continue to evolve as design trends do with time. In general, we focus on design elements that have clean lines, warm textures, and a much more calming, soothing aesthetic. We did this to challenge the traditional clinical feel of most waxing providers. Visiting a Bare&Sol studio will never feel like going to a doctor’s office. We’re here to cater to the beauty consumer of today, not the past.
