1. In early November 2020, Furry Land launched its franchising program. Following a successful opening in 2017, as more people than ever before warmly welcomed the idea of at-home, on-the-go pet grooming, Furry Land has expanded quickly and is now offering franchises for sale.
2. Nicholas Field, founder of Furry Land, said, “The COVID-19 pandemic has increased at-home, to-your-door services and businesses that don’t involve going into a storefront. Mobile grooming has never been more popular. We are able to safely deliver grooming right to people’s homes and maintain social distancing. Easy and convenient!”
3. Field stated that no prior grooming experience is required to operate the business. Grooming has a large growth potential thanks to the tens of millions of furry pets around the country today. Furry Land has worked for years to refine its business processes to make the mobile grooming company easier, more convenient, and faster than any other business on the market.
4. Field added, “The Furry Land franchise represents an outstanding opportunity to be part of an industry that is always in demand. Pets need regular grooming, that’s something that doesn’t go away. We do everything in our power to make opening a new mobile grooming business as easy as possible.”
5. Field personally comes with over one decade of experience in business growth and small business development. Furthermore, Field began the business with a single van three short years ago (as of the date of the press release), watching it grow into a national enterprise with bookings weeks and months in advance. He is passionate about pets and creating new small business systems that make everyone’s lives easier.
Opens First Arizona Location
6. In early August 2022, Furry Land opened a new location in Phoenix, Arizona. The first Furry Land in the state is owned and operated by Jennifer Ness. Regular grooming, as recommended by the ASPCA, includes brushing a pet’s hair and fur, washing their skin, and cleaning their eyes, teeth, nails, and coat. This is important for every dog breed because it helps prevent common health issues, such as excessive shedding and painful hair mats.
7. Ness said, “My three dogs are groomed regularly, so I am aware of how challenging it can be to get an appointment, particularly for large dogs, and how stressful it is leaving animals to be groomed and then caged until they are ready for pick-up. When I considered investing in Furry Land Mobile Grooming, I was immediately drawn to the concept. Because we provide services at our clients’ doorstep, the experience can be less stressful, more convenient and more efficient for everyone.”
8. Ness’s investment in Furry Land fulfills her desire to be a part of the pet care industry. With a personal passion for dogs, Furry Land allows her to offer a positive, necessary service that benefits both pets and their owners. As an independent business consultant in the financial services industry, Ness is using her entrepreneurial experience and skills to grow her new business.
9. Ness has hired Arizona native Colleen Rillos as operations manager. With extensive experience in both the spa and pet care industries, Rillos is a perfect fit for the mobile grooming business. She began volunteering at an animal shelter at the age of 15, and further developed a love of animals while working in a pet food store. Rillos enjoys exploring Phoenix and local hiking trails with her dog, Dior.
10. Rillos said, “We get to pamper dogs while providing a needed service throughout much of Arizona. We return the animals looking cute and clean, and most importantly, grooming helps keep dogs in optimal health.”
11. Furry Land’s temperature-controlled van has electricity to power the necessary equipment, a hot water heater to ensure the perfect bath temperature, and a therapeutic bathing system to clean and soothe pets. Furry Land groomers brush, bathe, shampoo and condition, towel dry (face), blow dry (body), de-shed, clip and cut hair, clean eyes and ears, and trim nails. Clients may add-on services, such as mat removal, a fresh breath treatment, and a doggy facial. Also, pet supplies are available for delivery at the time of grooming service.
Company History
12. Furry Land was founded in 2017 by Nicholas Field in Las Vegas, Nevada. The company offers an extensive array of pet grooming services in a mobile setting. Furry Land’s mobile salon comes directly to clients within its area of service. Field, who has a decade of experience developing small businesses, started Furry Land with just one van. The concept was a success and Field began franchising in 2020.
13. In April of 2021, the current franchisor, Furry Cuts! Petmobile International, LLC, purchased the assets of its predecessor, Furry Land, LP. There are now Furry Land franchises in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kentucky, Missouri, Nevada, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah.
