At the end of September 2020, the locally-owned DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen in Kern County, California was recognized by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) with the honorable BBB Torch Ethics Award for Marketplace Excellence. The award is evaluated and voted on by a panel of independent judges from the business and academic communities. The BBB said, “It’s more than just recognition for those that deserve it. It is a way to raise the bar of ethics and trust-building in the marketplace.”
11. “When we received the news that we were chosen for the BBB Torch Award for Ethics we were ecstatic, but at the same time humbled by the call to the level of professionalism that it demands. Everett and I have been blessed by those who brought us to this point in our career namely our three sons, our loyal and talented team which includes our in-house associates as well as our trade partners, and our wonderful clients that have put their trust in our company for the past 17 years,” said franchise co-owner Patty Gray.

13. The DreamMaker team has a combined 140 plus years of experience. Everett Gray started his career in 1973 with the Carpenter’s Local Union in Norfolk, Virginia, and earned his Journeyman Carpentry Certificate in 1977. He earned his California State Contractor’s License in 1983 and later incorporated their business in 1987, holding his present license #548785. Everett is well versed in all aspects of residential construction from foundations to roofing as a result of both his formal training and field experience.

Company History
15. DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen was founded in 1975 and traces its history to when GNU Corporation developed a system to put a beautiful, new hard-surface topcoat on porcelain bathtubs and sinks. After a decade of growth, the company started franchising under the name Worldwide Refinishing Systems, Inc. Under the ownership of the Dwyer Group (now called Neighborly), Worldwide Refinishing continued to grow around the United States. In 1999, the company changed its name to DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen to reflect the brand’s mission to offer full-service bath, kitchen, and full-interior remodeling services.
16. In 2003, Doug Dwyer, who is DreamMaker’s president and chief stewardship officer, purchased DreamMaker from his family. After the acquisition, Doug Dwyer expanded DreamMaker’s services, moving beyond resurfacing and refinishing to become a full-service interior remodeling company focused on improving lives. Since then, DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen has grown slowly but steadily around the U.S.
