Franchise Chatter (FC): What attracted you to the Xpresso Delight franchise?
Bryan Zeiss (BZ): Xpresso Delight is a business that checks a lot of boxes for us. As a franchise, it offers a proven record of past success coupled with the opportunity to be the best in class solution in a market that is ripe for change.

On top of all that, I think people in general are increasingly waking up to the environmental impact that each of us has on the world around us. One of the simplest ways we can lower our footprint is to reduce waste. The Xpresso Delight bean to cup systems help to do that by eliminating the need for plastic capsules and paper filters and taking advantage of energy-efficient design.
Pairing a better solution to an unfulfilled need with a recurring revenue model that provides the opportunity for rapid growth and environmentally responsible practices got us very excited about the business.
FC: What was training like? Have you felt supported by the franchisor?
BZ: Training was great! The franchisor was with us for two weeks as we launched for both training and in the field marketing. Since then they’ve been back to Charlotte for another round of focused marketing that we feel is taking us to the next level.
We were extremely excited to get started and the franchisor matched our enthusiasm during training and after. We believe that a rising tide raises all boats and they have demonstrated a like-minded philosophy in providing the support we need to reach our business goals.
FC: What type of competition is out there and what do you believe makes this concept unique?
BZ: There are certainly other options out there for office coffee, but none that deliver the quality and reliability that today’s consumers expect. In our market, we’ve found that people are actively searching for a better office coffee solution, something other than pod-based, pre-ground, powdered milk coffees.
Those who are choosing Xpresso Delight are doing so because we offer fresh whole beans, fresh milk, and simple, easy to use systems. That combination gives us incredible quality and flavor and is something the competition simply can’t match.
On top of that, the amount of time our clients spend on cleaning and maintenance is reduced to almost zero when compared to the competition, and we do it all with no upfront costs and no contracts. The ease of use for our customers is difficult to overstate.
FC: Has the Charlotte market been receptive? How is business going so far?
BZ: The Charlotte market has welcomed us with open arms and I’d even say has exceeded our expectations in many ways. I hear every week from people who have spent months looking for a premium office coffee solution only to come up empty-handed.
Once people experience the Xpresso Delight difference, there is a true sense of excitement. Faces light up when we do our initial demonstration in a new office. I even had one customer tell me that their coworkers started walking up and hugging them as a thank you for bringing in our service! As word gets around that there really is a better solution out there, our growth only stands to accelerate.
FC: Would you recommend this opportunity to others that are considering franchises? What skill sets do you think make for a successful franchisee?
BZ: I would. Be prepared to work though! The opportunity, at least in our market, is such that we are running as hard as we can to try and meet the need that exists. To be successful, I think one needs to be well organized, maintain a positive attitude and be ready to take action. If someone can learn to consistently push themselves outside of their comfort zone, they will see results.
FC: What are your growth plans in Charlotte and how do you plan to achieve them?
BZ: We have big plans for the Charlotte area and beyond and are progressing rapidly through our existing network, referrals from happy clients and direct mail/email campaigns. We also host coffee tastings in the central business district and other business centers and are becoming involved with certain charities and business publications to further our exposure in the market.
