Franchise Chatter (FC): How has your business model allowed you to become the largest franchise broker system in the world?
Bill Luce (BL): Transworld Business Advisors’ model offers our franchisees multiple revenue streams. FC: What have been some of the greatest successes within Transworld that led to this milestone?
BL: Representing over 300 separate brokers across a variety of different industries and incomes throughout our 40 years, Transworld Business Advisors has always done “Good Deals for Good People”. We value servicing clients and building long-standing relationships. Our success is also attributed to our excellent support system for anyone looking to purchase a franchise.
FC: What is the next step for Transworld as the franchise continues to expand?
BL: Further expansion throughout the United States and internationally. Our brand is currently present in more than 12 countries across the globe and we project further growth through the same initiatives that position us as the world’s leading business brokerage franchise – value-added support such as accelerated marketing campaigns, technical support and advances, and general support to our growing network.
FC: Your current largest domestic markets are Houston, Denver, Dallas, and the state of Florida. What markets are you looking to further expand in? Why these areas?

BL: Although we are always looking to expand in any unoccupied regions, we are specifically interested in the mid-part of the country, such as Saint Louis, MO; Kansas City, MO; Ohio; Arizona; and Louisiana. These markets have tremendous growth opportunities and are currently underrepresented in the business brokerage industry.
FC: What are your plans for international growth?
BL: We have master license opportunities in a number of countries, specifically Canada and throughout Europe and Asia. We offer training, franchise sales, marketing, and technical support to all of our master partners, ensuring their success in replicating the brand in their respective countries.
FC: How does franchisee training play a role in Transworld’s success?
BL: Like any good franchise system, training is a vital component in assuring the success of our network. In regard to our training methods, we always assume two things: (1) that the franchisee has no experience and (2) the franchisee has never owned a business before. We provide all of the necessary tools to help operate a successful business, no matter their backgrounds.
FC: Transworld recently held its conference in Orlando, FL. What is the significance of the conference to brokers nationwide?
BL: Our annual conference allows brokers the opportunity to learn best practices, network with strategic partners, and gain insight to advances in marketing and technology. More than 200 of our brokers and agents attended our conference to collaborate and invest in their business’s growth.
FC: Were there any network successes highlighted at the conference?
BL: Each year we hold an annual awards gala to honor our dedicated and hard-working brokers. This year alone we had dozens of award winners across several categories. Amongst featured awards was the prestigious Hall of Fame, which recognizes our highest achieving franchisees for their commitment, consistency, sales achievement, and contributions to the network.
The 3 new honorees inducted were Karen Christensen and Ralph Alva of Irvine, California; Rupesh Bharad of Richmond North, Virginia; and Steven Hanson and Marshall Pollock of San Diego North, California. Past inductees include Al and Jessica Fialkovich of Denver, Colorado; Gerry Brisson of Houston, Texas; and Andy Cagnetta of Florida.
