FC: Tell us about your professional background. What led you to starting Black Tie Moving?
DB: My father owned his own moving company from the time I was about four years old. I grew up moving furniture on his trucks, developing the technical skill set that I needed at a young age with years of experience. After high school, I started working in property management, which eventually led to a successful career in the mortgage lending industry. In every position I’ve ever held, my customers were moving.
The mortgage industry tanked, and at the same time I had a terrible experience using a professional moving company. I couldn’t find a better moving service as a consumer, so I decided to create one based off what I believe people needed and deserved on one of the most stressful days of their life.
FC: What makes Black Tie Moving unique?
DB: Our people, our processes, our technology and the transparency we have with every customer. We have it all down to a science and truly take pride in delivering the red carpet moving experience for all of our customers, who are treated like VIPs on moving day.

FC: What is the investment for potential franchisees?
DB: The franchise fee is $50,000 per territory. Each franchisee should expect to bring an additional $50,000 in working capital and $25,000 in start-up cost to the table.
