If you are considering a Soccer Shots franchise, don’t get blindsided by these 19 important franchise fees (from the initial franchise fee, to the royalty fee, to 17 other fees found in Items 5 and 6 of Soccer Shots’ 2016 FDD).

1.  Initial Franchise Fee:  $25,075 to $29,500

  • Soccer Shots’ Initial Franchise Fee for a Franchised Business is $29,500. The Initial Franchise Fee includes Initial Franchise Training, business cards, a dedicated web page at www.soccershots.org, and Soccer Shots’ issuance of its then-current start-up equipment and marketing package.
  • The Initial Franchise Fee is uniform for all franchisees, except as noted below for an existing franchisee purchasing an additional territory. The Initial Franchise Fee is payable and fully earned upon the signing of the Franchise Agreement and is non-refundable in whole or in part under any circumstances, except as provided below.
  • If Soccer Shots determines that any individual attending the Initial Franchise Training is unable to satisfactorily complete the training, Soccer Shots may terminate the Franchise Agreement. If Soccer Shots terminates the Franchise Agreement during your training or immediately after your training is complete, you will be refunded 50% of your Initial Franchise Fee.
  • If you are in good standing and Soccer Shots determines that you meet its criteria to purchase an additional territory, the Initial Franchise Fee for an additional territory is currently 85% of the then-current Initial Franchise Fee.
  • If Soccer Shots awards you an additional territory (which it is under no obligation to do), you must pay this amount when you sign its then-current Franchise Agreement. After you sign the Franchise Agreement for this additional territory, you have 90 days in which to begin offering the Program.
  • In addition to the Initial Franchise Fee, you must pay Soccer Shots, at the time you sign the Franchise Agreement, a prorated amount of the $1,000 Technology Fee, the $500 Brand Development Fund Fee, and the $50 Council Fee. These amounts are due annually on April 1 of each year, but will be prorated for your first year depending on the date you sign the Franchise Agreement.
  • Each of these fees is nonrefundable and is uniform for all franchisees, although Soccer Shots will reduce each amount by 50% if you are an existing franchisee purchasing an additional territory.

2.  Royalty:  7% of your monthly Gross Sales (but in no event less than the Minimum Royalty)

  • Due Date:  Due by 12th day of each calendar month on previous month’s Gross Revenue.
  • Percentage of your monthly Gross Sales may increase at any time during the term of the Franchise Agreement up to an additional 2%.
  • “Gross Sales” include the total revenues and receipts from whatever source (whether in the form of cash, credit, agreement to pay, barter, trade, or other consideration) that arise, directly or indirectly, from the operation of or in connection with your Franchised Business whether under any of the Marks or otherwise.
  • Gross Sales exclude sales taxes collected from customers and paid to the appropriate taxing authority and any other bona fide refunds, rebates, or discounts that Soccer Shots authorizes in writing.
  • Soccer Shots’ Royalty Fee is 7% of your monthly Gross Sales. However, at the end of each year of the franchise term, the annual sum of your royalty fees must be equal to the Minimum Royalty for that year, or you will pay Soccer Shots the difference.
  • Soccer Shots’ Minimum Royalty is as follows:
  • Year 1:  $3,150
  • Year 2:  $4,200
  • Year 3:  $5,250
  • Year 4:  $5,950
  • Year 5:  $7,000
  • If you execute an agreement for a renewal term, the minimum royalty will increase 5% per year during the renewal term. During the first year of the renewal term, the minimum royalty will be 5% over Soccer Shots’ then-current minimum royalty for the fifth year of operations.
