Mark Mooney and his son Michael are successful multi-unit franchisees and business owners based in Florida. Their business interests include two Massage Envy locations, a spa and massage service franchise; Veramea, a consulting firm whose mission is to help entrepreneurs grow and innovate; and MyEduLife, a company that creates software for educational institutions.

The Mooneys recently expanded their franchise portfolio to include BrightStar Care, a home care franchise that provides both medical and non-medical care to clients in their homes. Recognizing this line of business as attractive because of the country’s graying population, the father-son duo decided to acquire a total of four BrightStar Care territories (in West Seminole, Orange, East Volusia, and Lake County, Florida).

BrightStar Care, which matches clients with qualified, pre-screened caregivers, is one of the few home care providers that offer both medical and non-medical home care, available to clients 24/7.

The decision to enter the home care business was also a deeply personal one for Mark, who recently lost his parents. When Mark’s mother and father reached the age where they could no longer care for themselves, the family decided to take them to an assisted living facility because of the lack of quality options for in-home care.
