Karen Brinker, owner of AlphaGraphics in Hartford, CT, introduces Mitt Romney to the audience on Wednesday, April 11. Brinker, an AlphaGraphics franchisee for over 20 years, also has a store in Greenwich. She was selected by the Romney campaign to host the speech due to her success as a female business owner.
Karen purchased the Hartford franchise in 2009, while her Greenwich location has been open for 22 years. She employs 24 employees across her two locations.
AlphaGraphics plans, produces, and manages visual communications for businesses at nearly 300 owner-operated, locally-based business centers worldwide. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, the AlphaGraphics network leads the industry in sales per location.
The Romney campaign reached out to the Hartford area Chamber of Commerce looking for successful women entrepreneurs, and that’s how Karen’s name came up. Karen had never met Mitt Romney prior to the event and considers herself a non-political person. “I consider myself a business person, and that’s the reason I said yes to the event,” she said.
