What is The Flame Broiler?
1. Founded in 1995 in Fullerton, California, The Flame Broiler is a Korean style quick-casual restaurant known for its flame broiled chicken, beef, and ribs, served with vegetables, brown or white rice, and the restaurant’s own homemade teriyaki-style sauce. The servings come in either a mini-bowl, a large bowl or a plate.
2. Young Lee, the founder of The Flame Broiler, set out to create a healthier alternative to the fast food he frequented on the road while at his former job. The menus on the wall and in print disclose the caloric content of each item, as well as saturated fat, carbs, proteins and so on. Nothing is fried, there is no skin on the chicken, no trans fat and no MSG.
3. The company began franchising in 1999 and it now has about 93 Flame Broiler restaurants operating in California, 2 in the state of Arizona, and 1 in the state of Florida.
