What is Capriotti’s?
1. Capriotti’s Sandwich Company was founded in 1976 by Lois Margolet and her brother Alan, who opened the doors to the first location on Union Street in Wilmington, DE., serving sandwiches made from the freshest, in-house roasted turkey and capturing the hearts of “real turkey lovers.” The duo named the restaurant after their grandfather Philip Capriotti, who loved to cook for them.
2. 35 years later, there are over 70 company-owned and franchised Capriotti’s locations in eleven states across the U.S. including: Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Utah, Wisconsin and Nevada.
3. With a reputation for gourmet taste, Capriotti’s prides itself on using the freshest ingredients in order to provide customers with a taste of home in every bite. Capriotti’s premiere sandwich is the Bobbie , also known as “Thanksgiving on a roll,” made with homemade turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing and mayo. The Bobbie was voted “The Greatest Sandwich in America” by thousands of readers across the country and reported by AOL.com. Other specialty offerings include the Capastrami piled high with hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, cole slaw and Russian dressing, and the Cheese Steak served Delaware style with fresh white American cheese.
