What does ComForcare do?

A ComForcare Senior Services franchise business “provides companionship, personal/domestic care, and other special needs services, primarily on a non-medical basis, for seniors and people of all ages so that they may remain in their residences.  Their service is an effective solution primarily for the elderly who prefer to remain in their residence where the quality of life is enhanced without the stress and hardships of interrupted routines and daily habits.” (ComForcare’s 2011 FDD)

The estimated initial investment to open a ComForcare franchise ranges from $105,000 to $155,000, which includes the $39,500 initial franchise fee and start-up costs related to marketing, insurance, furnishing a small office and other business start-up expenses.

Excellent overview. Especially liked the analysis and the specific point about finding good caregivers becoming harder and harder.

I took a look at their Item 19 and didn’t notice any indication on average cost of sales/expenses/etc. So, a bit hard to understand potential. Any insight into other senior services franchises to compare?

Thanks again. Really enjoying the blog.

Thank you for your support, Mike! I really appreciate it.

So far, all the senior care franchises I’ve seen with Item 19 disclosures (BrightStar Care, ComForcare, Assisting Hands) only reveal average revenues. I’m also very curious about the expense structure for this type of business. I’ll dig deeper to see what I can find. I’m also trying to get an exclusive interview with an executive in this space, but so far no such luck. But I’ll keep trying. Please check back soon and hopefully, I’ll have more information to pass along.

Best regards,
