Togo's Celebrates Random Acts of Kindness Day with Free Sandwiches

Togo’s, a deli-inspired “West Coast Original” sandwich shop known for its charitable initiatives, surprised its fans with free sandwiches on Random Acts of Kindness Day, dubbing the holiday as “Random Acts of #9ness” in honor of its highly-requested #9 sandwich.

Togo’s took to the streets of Sacramento during lunch to capture hungry fans’ reactions to receiving a free, six-inch sandwich featuring Togo’s premium sliced pastrami and topped with crisp lettuce, tomatoes, and Togo’s classic mustard. The resulting video from Togo’s “Random Acts of #9ness” can be viewed on Togo’s Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram pages. Thirty lucky guests at the Oxnard and Brentwood locations in California were also given $5 gift cards during their lunch hour in celebration of the day.

“We know how much our loyal guests love our signature pastrami and couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate a day focused on kindness than to hand them a free #9 Hot Pastrami Sandwich,” said Renae Scott, vice president of branding and marketing for Togo’s Eateries. “Capturing their unbridled reactions was priceless! I won’t give too much away, but let’s just say we HAD to share the video on social media for everyone to enjoy, and hope to make this an annual tradition.”
